This giant fair attracts over 700,000 visitors, unites booksellers, distributors and publishers and displays a wide range of products and services, including a children's corner, all under one roof. As well as introducing all the latest publications and products for the ultimate browsing experience, the fair is also a great meeting point for those who wish to schmooze, network and share business ideas.

After its success in 2007, the National Secondary Schools Xiang Sheng Competition is held at the fair for the second year running, challenging young contestants to think on their feet and hone their public speaking skills in front of a live audience. The fair also hosts the Singapore-Malaysia Primary Schools Bilingual Olympiad, featuring interesting debates between three top schools from Singapore and Malaysia.

Over the years, the event has given local exhibitors the opportunity to work more closely with overseas publishers, who in turn bring a wider range of books into Singapore than have ever been brought before, as well as incorporating a Chinese section, English and electronic books.
