BILIK - AHMAD

SYNOPSIS:In 1995, Bilik was staged at the Substation Class Room.In 1996, Ahmad was staged to invited guests only as it was not granted a performance license. This year, these two black comedies written, directed and reworked by Noor Effendy Ibrahim returns to The Substation as a double-bill amidst Teater Ekamatra's 20th Anniversary celebrations. Both plays take place in an alternate reality where behavioral protocols and common courtesies are a convenient, sycophantic everyday affair. How much of the decorum and etiquette we hold onto is really virtuous or just veneer?
